Utah Soaring Recovery Materials

The following material consists of locally produced literature. This literature has been produced by the OA Utah Soaring Intergroup and in the Region. The content reflects the experience, strength, and hope of our individual members. It is not OA Conference or board approved and does not represent OA as a whole.

The material is free, but donations would be gratefully accepted. A button for your contributions can be found at the bottom of this page.

A Collection of Twelve Step Prayers

The concept of prayer is generally used to denote a way to communicate a concept of infinite knowledge and power. Concepts, other than those utilized by traditional religion, do exist. One fundamental idea of God, based upon the basic text of AA, (see pg. 55 of the Big Book), is being offered in this material. Some individuals may find the approach is useful in their personal recovery.

Regardless of whatever approach to faith you choose for yourself, you can be assured that there is a power for good, and you can utilize it in your life.

The prayer collection is a commonly found set of prayers found in Overeaters Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous. Here you’ll find the Unity Prayer, Rozanne’s Prayer, the Serenity Prayer, the 11th Step Prayer, the Prayer of St. Francis, the Fear Prayer, and many more. If you have a favorite prayer from recovery literature, that has been left out, please give it to someone in the intergroup or send it to the Communications Committee for consideration: Communications Committee.

A Tribute to Rozanne

John K. gave a heartfelt and moving eulogy to Rozanne S. at the 2014 Los Angeles Intergroup (LAIG) sponsored retreat honoring Overeaters Anonymous’ 54th birthday.

The OA Promise (Rozanne’s Prayer): I put my hand in yours, and together we can do what we could never do alone. No longer is there a sense of hopelessness, no longer must we each depend upon our own unsteady willpower. We are all together now, reaching out our hands for power and strength greater than ours, and as we join hands, we find love and understanding beyond our wildest dreams.

Also, please see the Memoriam by Overeaters Anonymous at Rozanne S.
