For Outliers

Are you an “outlier”? We call someone who’s in an area where there are no face-to-face meetings an “outlier”. The opportunity to interact with others in a meeting environment is an invaluable tool in the program of Overeaters Anonymous. But if there are no meetings in your area or you are not able to attend meetings, what can you do? There is support available both from the Overeaters Anonymous World Service program and from us here in Utah.

First, because of the two years of the Covid pandemic, there are now a number of Utah online Zoom meetings. See the Meeting List page for the hybrid (combined face-to-face and online) and completely online meetings.

Next, the World Service Office of Overeaters Anonymous has lists of online and telephone meetings. Use the link to the OA website at oa.org and use the “Find a Meeting” button on their page of meetings. On the left side (or as buttons) you will see links to instructions for Telephone Meetings and Online Meetings. These are a lot of fun and you will meet people from all over the world and at any time of the day or night.

At the local level, the OA groups offer support in sending you information and helping to set up one-on-one contact with you. Call our hotline number given at the bottom of the page and leave a message that you are an outlier and are interested in OA and would like to get in touch with someone local. Eventually, you may be interested in starting an actual face-to-face meeting in your area.

Southern Utah Meetings

Meetings that are in Southern Utah and are not listed here. These meetings are affiliated with the Las Vegas Intergroup. The Las Vegas Overeaters Anonymous Intergroup provides support to OA members and affiliated groups within the Las Vegas, Nevada area including these Nevada cities: Laughlin, Mesquite & Pahrump, and these Utah cities Hurricane, St. George, and Cedar City. Please see their web page at lvoa.org for meetings and activities in that area.,
